Hello, I’m would like to book a hotel room for mid June. It won’t let me use points at this time. Can I hold the room on my credit card and pay with my points at a later time?

Hi Kevin,
Choice may not have a problem with you doing this, assuming the award space opens up. But I would call the hotel to just to verify!

Like the post says, you have to call to book Preferred Hotel partners.

If you don’t use your points for 2020 do you lose them?

Hi Jackie,
As long as you are an active Choice Privileges member, your points never expire. You must, however, complete at least one qualifying activity every 18 months to maintain an active account and to retain your accumulated points.

Is there some way to identify which rooms are designated as standard rooms for a given property? Or if the room that’s available is not bookable with points, it’s safe to assume it’s non-standard? I’m seeing availability for a room type that I feel like I’ve seen shown as bookable with points in the past but the site says it’s not bookable with points. Maybe capacity limits?

Hi Gaurav,
Yes there could definitely be limits on the number of rooms bookable with points so you could very well be seeing a room that was bookable with points previously or on a different day that’s no longer bookable with points.
