Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Food and Drink Options

Visitors of Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounges have access to complimentary food and drink options, including the famous Clubhouse Burger. Enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menus and a range of healthy and delicious snacks. The bar is stocked with outstanding wines, beers, liquors, spirits, and a delicious range of non-alcoholic drinks and sodas.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Eligibility

All Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounges are open to passengers flying the airline with an Upper Class boarding pass, specific elite members, eligible Amex cardholders, and those flying Delta One from the U.K.

Unfortunately, there are no day pass options, and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses are no longer available to travelers with a Priority Pass membership.

If you’re wondering how to get into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, we review the options in detail below:

Upper Class Ticket

One guaranteed way that you will be able to access any of those is by holding an Upper Class ticket. Fortunately, many excellent credit card programs will help you earn enough points to book an Upper Class ticket.

American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Chase Ultimate RewardsCiti ThankYou Points, and Marriott Bonvoy points are all transferable to the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club program. The first 4 transfer at a 1:1 rate, while Marriott Bonvoy points transfer at a 3:1 rate.

This means you earn points with cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, The Platinum Card® from American Express, or the American Express® Gold Card, and then use those points to book an Upper Class ticket with Virgin Atlantic.

Flying Club Gold Elite Members

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members can access the lounge and bring in 1 guest.

To achieve Gold elite status you’ll need to earn at least 1,000 Tier Points in 1 calendar year. For example, 1,000 Tier Points could be 2 round-trips and a one-way ticket in Upper Class, 5 flexible Premium Economy round-trip flights, or 10 Economy Delight round-trip flights.

In addition to complimentary access to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses, Flying Club Gold members also receive perks like 60% more miles on Virgin Atlantic flights, Upper Class check-in, priority boarding, extra luggage allowance, and more.

Partner Elite Members

Delta SkyMiles Gold/Platinum/Diamond and Flying Blue Gold/Platinum elites have Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse access when traveling between the U.K. and U.S. on a Virgin Atlantic- or Delta Air Lines-operated flight.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Elite Gold/PPS and Virgin Australia Gold/Platinum/The Club elites have Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse access when traveling on a Virgin Atlantic-operated flight.

Passengers with Air New Zealand Airpoints Gold/Gold Elite status flying Virgin from SFO to London may also gain access to the SFO Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse specifically.

Eligible American Express Cards

If you are a cardholder of the Amex Platinum card, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, or Centurion® Card from American Express, you can access the New York and Washington, D.C. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses via your Plaza Premium access. Limited access hours may apply.

Eligible Capital One Cards

Travelers with the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card have unlimited access for themselves and 2 guests to the New York and Washington, D.C. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses via their Capital One Plaza Premium access.

Those with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business have 2 complimentary passes annually that they can use at the same locations or at Capital One Lounges.

Flying Delta One

Delta One travelers flying on a Virgin Atlantic or Delta Air Lines-operated flight leaving the U.K. have access to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses.

Final Thoughts

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses provide an exceptional lounge experience to its guests. Between the stellar food and drink options, and amenities including wellness spas and on-site showers, the lounges are a perfect place to rest, indulge, and keep those devices charged while waiting for your flight.

As Virgin Atlantic continues to expand its U.S. Clubhouse lounge network, we will update this post as regularly as possible so you’ve got the most up-to-date information.

The LAX location is no longer a clubhouse. It has been retrofitted to be a Delta Sky Club for overflow from the main Sky Club on the same level.

Does anyone know if Virgin plans to take control back and retrofit it back to Virgin dress once Delta has their new Skyway Sky Club open? While I enjoy the Sky Club for domestic use, it doesn’t compare to the food, drink, and ambiance of the clubhouse when travelling internationally.

Hi Kyle,

Based on the VA lounge page, they do make it seem like they plan to re-take control of the lounge at some point in the future. Though they still have not given any sort of date as to when they plan to reopen any of the US Clubhouse locations.

Virgin now flies daily to/from Tampa. Do they have their own club house for business/upper class?

Hi Kate,

Virgin does not have a Clubhouse at TPA.

Useful article thank you. Virgin have recently changed their flight times out of MCO to be late at night (22:20 i think), but the Delta Sky Club lounge that Virgin upper class passengers can use closes at 8.30pm. So basically it seems like no Virgin customers will actually be able to use the included lounge.

Just went to Clubhouse in JFK, flew upper class on Virgin Atlantic from London and have a connecting flight. We also have Amex Platinum, we were told that since our connecting flight was on a Delta it would not count and that they ‘lost their contract’ with Amex.

Hi Jennifer – Sorry to hear you had trouble accessing the lounge. Amex’s lounge locator for JFK indicates that you should have had access to the JFK Clubhouse from 5-8 a.m. Was your visit inside of that window?

If you booked a partner award ticket in business/first using Virgin Atlantic points, can you access the VA clubhouse?

Also, is the SFO clubhouse not included as a Amex Platinum cardholder benefit?
Thanks.

Hi Michael,

Yes, you should be able to visit the Clubhouse.

Jeannie

I have the Capital One Venture X card and so does my husband. Will we be able to hang out in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in JFK with our Venture X card on the way home. We are flying domestic from JFK to California.

Thank you!

Keri Stooksbury

June 24, 2023

Hi Jeannie, yes, you both should be able to access the Virgin Clubhouse JFK per the Partner Lounge Network, but access will be via your Priority Pass membership (so make sure you’re signed up for that). Thanks for reading!

The EWR location was taken off the list of eligible lounges for Amex Plat cardholders recently. Not sure why.

Keri Stooksbury

July 03, 2023

Hi Rob, yes, per our note, “If you are a cardholder of the Amex Platinum card, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, or Centurion® Card from American Express, you can access the New York and Washington, D.C. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses via your Plaza Premium access. Limited access hours may apply.” The other U.S. lounges are operated by Sodexo, not Plaza Premium, and fall out of the Global Lounge Collection.
