U.S. Bank Cash+ Signature Card — Is It Worth It?

The U.S. Bank Cash+ Signature card is well worth it for anyone who is looking for a strong cash-back rewards card that can be tailored exactly to the purchases you spend the most on.

Consider that you’ll earn 5% cash-back on up to $2,000 in spend per quarter on the 2 categories of your choosing. Pick from categories including home utilities, cell phone providers, TV, internet and streaming services, and more. Thanks to these bonus categories, this is one of the best credit cards for monthly bills and expenses.

Those who choose wisely and meet the $2,000 quarterly threshold can earn $100 of cash-back each quarter, or $400 every year. That is some pretty stellar cash-back earnings from a no-annual-fee card!

The cash-back rewards don’t stop there, though. You’ll also receive 5% cash-back on prepaid air, hotel, and car reservations booked directly in the Rewards Center, and 2% cash-back on everyday categories such as grocery stores, restaurants, or gas stations.

Put simply, the U.S. Bank Cash+ Signature card is an excellent option for those who know where their money goes each month and are looking for a way to maximize their cash-back rewards on these expenses.

U.S. Bank Cash+ Signature Card Top Benefits

Introductory APR

The card offers an introductory APR offer, which can be helpful to some.

If you’re interested in spreading out a large purchase, or several purchases, the card offers a 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 billing cycles. After that, a variable APR is currently 19.49 – 29.49%.

This will allow you to split up a large purchase over the intro period, without being billed for any interest during those months.

Rewards Center Earn Mall

The Rewards Center Earn Mall is U.S. Bank’s shopping portal that allows you to earn even more cash-back rewards at over 1,100 online stores.

If you’re someone that does a fair bit of online shopping, then this card benefit could be quite lucrative for you. Even more so when you consider that some of the card’s 5% cash-back categories include furniture stores, electronic stores, department stores, select clothing stores, and sporting goods stores.

Best Ways To Earn and Redeem Your Cash-back

To earn as much cash-back with your card as possible, you’ll obviously want to make sure you’re using it for every purchase you can, since you’ll earn 1% to 5% cash-back depending on the category.

Speaking of categories, you’ll also want to make sure that you choose your 5% bonus categories and 2% category wisely, as doing so will allow you to earn significantly more cash-back.

When it comes to redeeming your cash-back, U.S. Bank allows you to do so as a statement credit, a rewards card, or directly deposited into your U.S. Bank checking or savings account. The only downside here is that you must have at least $25 worth of cash-back rewards before you can make a redemption.

Alternative Cards to the U.S. Bank Cash+ Signature Card

Chase Freedom Flex℠ Credit Card

One of our favorite no-annual-fee cash-back credit cards is the Freedom Flex card thanks to its 5% cash-back rewards on rotating quarterly bonus categories like gas and groceries on up to $1,500 in spend.

Plus, it also offers 5% cash-back on travel purchases made through Chase Travel, 3% back on dining and drugstore purchases, and 1% back on all other purchases.

Bank of America® Customized Cash Rewards Credit Card

Another card that allows you to choose your own top rewards category is the Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards card. It offers 3% cash-back on either gas, online shopping, dining, travel, drug stores, or home improvement/furnishings. Your category can be changed each month to suit any upcoming purchases. Further, it earns 2% cash-back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs and 1% cash-back on all other purchases with no annual fee.
