How do I report a death of a United credit card holder? There is a balance on the card and it has been assessed a 2-month penalty. The cardholder died June 28, 2022. Please give me steps to clear this balance and get rid of the penalty charges.

Hi Donna. So sorry to hear you are going through this. You can call the number on the back of the card if you do have the physical card. You can also visit a Chase banking branch and they can walk you through the process. It’s important to do this as soon as possible to avoid possible fraud. I found this United cardholder customer service number as well: 1-800-888-8756.
