Terminal 3

LAS Airport Terminals

LAS has 2 main terminal buildings, and both terminals have multiple gate areas. Terminal 1 is the main domestic terminal with flights operating from A, B, C, and D gates. Terminal 3 is the international and domestic terminal, with flights operating from D and E gates.

Terminals 1 and 3 are not connected, so passengers are advised to check ahead for the correct terminal to avoid having to ride the shuttle bus between terminals. Shuttles run every 20 to 30 minutes on Level 0 of both Terminals 1 and 3.

The Terminal 1 Esplanade is on the upper level with a food court, shops, security checkpoints, and the airport tram station.

A Gate Departure Area

Harry Reid International Airport Terminal 1 A gates. Image Credit: Harry Reid International Airport

The A gate departure area has 16 gates numbered A3, A5, A7, A8, A10 to A12, A14, A15, and A17 to A23 with flights operated by Allegiant Air and Spirit Airlines. There is a small selection of shops and restaurants in the departure area with the majority pre-security in the terminal Esplanade.

After passing through the A/B security checkpoint from Terminal 1, the A gates are to the right.

The B and C gates are easily accessible from the A gates. or to connect to the D or E gates, passengers can take the airport tram.

B Gate Departure Area

The B gate departure area has 17 gates numbered B1, B2, B6, B9-B12, B14, B15, B17, and B19 to B25. Southwest and Spirit Airlines operate from the B gates, and the area has a good selection of shops, bars, and restaurants, including Starbucks and Hudson News.

To reach the B gates, pass through the A/B security checkpoint from Terminal 1 and turn left down the long corridor.

To connect to the A gates, take the walkway back towards the A/B checkpoint and turn left. To connect to the C gates, take the walkway to the right of Starbucks walking past the pharmacy and pet relief area.

To connect to the D or E gates, take the corridor as if walking to the C gates and take a left to the airport tram station where you can ride the blue line to the D gates with onward services to the E gates.

C Gate Departure Area

Harry Reid International Airport Terminal 1 C gates. Image Credit: Harry Reid International Airport

The C gate departure area has 18 gates numbered C1 to C5, C7 to C9, C11, C12, C14, C16, C19, and C21 to C25.

The concourse is quite long, and passengers that are flying from gates C1 to C22 can pass through the C/D security checkpoint and take the green line on the airport tram to the bottom end of the concourse.

Passengers flying from gates C23 to C25 may find it quicker to pass through the C annex checkpoint and walk along to their departure gate. Due to the size of the concourse, there are plenty of shops and restaurants, including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Wendy’s, and Jamba Juice.

To connect to gate areas A or B, take the corridor at the north end of the concourse (to the left of Jamba Juice), or to reach the D or E gates, take the blue line on the airport tram.

D Gate Departure Area

Harry Reid International Airport Terminal 1 D gates. Image Credit: Harry Reid International Airport

The D gate area is the largest concourse at LAS with 44 gates numbered D1, D3 to D12, D14, D16 to D22, D24 to D26, D32 to D43, and D50 to D59.

Domestic and international flights operate from the D gates, and the concourse has plenty of shops and restaurants, a United Club lounge, Centurion Lounge, and The Club at LAS.

The center of the concourse is where the airport tram station is situated, and passengers can ride the blue line from the D gates to the A, B, or C gates, or the red line to the E gates.

Terminal 3

Departures is on the upper level with the ticketing desks and security checkpoint located through the E gate departure area.

The E gate departure area has 14 gates numbered E1 to E12, E14, and E15. Most of the international airlines operate from the E gates, and the concourse has a range of shops and restaurants and The Club at LAS lounge.

To connect from the E to the D gates, passengers can ride the red line tram, or onward on the blue line to reach the other gate areas.

Inter-terminal Transport

Harry Reid International Airport Tram — Inside the Secure Area

The frequent airport tram transports passengers between terminals and gates within the secure area. There are 3 colored lines to help passengers identify which route they require.

LineRoute
Terminal 1 to C gates / C gates to Terminal 1
D gates to Terminal 1 / Terminal 1 to D gates
Terminal 3 to D gates / D gates to Terminal 3

Airport Shuttle Bus — Outside the Secure Area

The airport shuttle bus runs every 20 to 30 minutes and transports passengers between terminals. Buses operate outside of the secure area, so passengers need to re-clear security on arrival at the connecting terminal.

Buses depart from Terminal 1 on Level 0, outside door exits 7 to 13, and Terminal 3 on Level 0 on both the west end to serve domestic travelers and the east end to serve international travelers.

Walking — Inside the Secure Area

Harry Reid International Airport suggested walking routes and distances. Image Credit: Harry Reid International Airport

Terminal 1’s A, B, and C gates are connected via pedestrian walkways.

The A and B gates are closely located just a short walk from each other, while the C gates are a bit further away. To reach the C gates, passengers need to walk through the C annex from the B gates or walk through the corridor next to the A/B security checkpoint.

LAS encourages passengers to keep fit and walk around the airport terminals before their flights. The colored lines in the above map are suggested routes and distances (more detailed maps are available on the airport’s Fly Fit! page). Note that luggage storage is not available, so you’ll need to bring your carry-on and personal items with you.

LAS is one of the largest U.S. airports, so some prior planning may be in order to ensure arrival at the correct terminal as they are not interconnected outside of the secure area.

The airport tram is only accessible once passengers have cleared security and is a convenient mode of transport for passengers connecting to other flights where it’s not necessary to reclaim checked luggage.

The airport is just a few miles from the start of the Las Vegas Strip, so visitors can stay in the famous resorts and hotels without worrying about a long journey back to the airport.

As a Vegas local, I found this to be one of the better reviews on our airport! I thought you might be interested in some additional information to make your article more complete.

Over 1,300 Slot Machines are located throughout the airport. You must be 21 years or older to play.

Due to COVID reductions in service, all airlines traditionally assigned to the E Gates are temporarily flying out of the D gates. Ticketing and baggage claim; however, will still continue for those airlines in Terminal 3.

Due to COVID reductions in service, the C Annex Security Checkpoint is temporarily closed.

Zero Level Fitness is a full-sized gym located underneath the baggage claim area of Terminal 1. Look for Baggage Carousel #10 and take the elevator nearest it to Floor 0. The gym conducts group fitness classes, and a spa is located on-site. If you’re not in the mood to workout, the gym rents single-occupancy Sleeping Rooms by the hour, which will give you access to the shower and sauna facilities.

A full-service U.S. Post office is located on the 2nd floor of Terminal 1, above the baggage claim area.

Aviation Museum exhibits are scattered throughout the airport, on both sides of security.

Wells Fargo Bank, terminal 1, before security, on the 2nd floor. ATMs for Wells Fargo Bank and Clark County Credit Union can be found throughout the airport, on both sides of security. All Travelex Currency Exchange locations are temporarily closed.

Fresh flowers are sold in vending machines found in the baggage claim area of both terminals.

A full-service Liquor Store is located in the baggage claim area of Terminal 1.

Chocolate shops: Vegas’ own candy maker, Ethel M, runs a chocolate shop in every one of the passenger Concourses.

Duty free stores are now found in both D & E gates.

The Terminal 1 Uber/Lyft ride share pick-up spot recently moved. It is now located on Level 2 of the parking garage. It is no longer on Level 2M. The ride share pickup location for Terminal 3 remains the same: Valet Level (Floor 1) of the parking garage. (Note that there is no longer a Terminal 2 at LAS. It was demolished several years ago.)

CLEAR extended its services to the C-annex security checkpoint. That being said, they have temporarily consolidated their services to just the C/D Checkpoint in Terminal 1, and the D/E checkpoint in Terminal 3.

Airport lounges with showers include the American Express Centurion Lounge, and both locations of the Club at LAS.

Due to COVID, the E Gates location of the Club at LAS, as well as the United Club, and the Centurion Lounge are temporarily closed.

An interesting fact about international flights arriving at the D gates: all international passengers will walk through a secure underground tunnel that leads to Terminal 3. There, they will be processed by Customs and Border Control.

Hooters Casino (mentioned in the Airport Hotels section) is now called OYO Hotel & Casino.

Keep up the awesome work. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to get a wheelchair to help get a person around the airport?

Hi Michael,

Yes, if you contact the airline you are flying in advance they can help facilitate this for you.

Thanks for the comprehensive information. This is certainly helpful. As a suggestion, it would also be good to document the approximate time to the lounges from the various terminals. For example, the Centurion lounge in D concourse is something people traveling from concourses A,B and C may also want to visit but knowing how long it will take to go back and forth might be helpful in deciding if they have enough time or not.

Do they have different zones outside the terminal for cell phone lot pick up or just an area for which airline you flew in on?

Hi Charles,

There should not be separate zones. The cell phone lot holds everyone waiting to pick up an arriving passenger.

It’s pretty easy: Let your ride know they can wait for you at the cell phone lot. Please be aware that there are no restroom facilities, your friend will need up remain in their car, and all cars are asked to leave the lot between the hours of 1:00 am – 6:00 am. The address is: 673 Kitty Hawk Way, Las Vegas, NV 89119

When you arrive, if you follow the directions in main article, you’ll be just fine. (It’s the 2 paragraphs above the Cell Phone Lot bold section.) From baggage claim, you’ll go outside, cross the bridge over the road, and go to Level 1 of the parking terrace.

Once you’re there, you’ll notice numbers are painted on posts above the sidewalk. When you call your friend to pick you up, you can tell them the number you are standing by, AS WELL AS which parking garage you are in. (Either Terminal 1 pushing or Terminal 3 parking.)

Author: please update your article, according to the Uber info I left in my Aug 2020 comment. Twice in the article you say that Terminal 1 ride share pickup is located at level 2M. You are directing your readers to the wrong location, and it’s very possible that they might not read into the comments that the correct location is Level 2. (Yes, the elevator actually has different buttons for 2 as well as 2M. Go figure!)

Also, you may wish to update the fact that Clear has been available at ALL checkpoints for some time now.

It would be nice if the sitting areas in front of Gates D, E and any other Gates were open between each individual chair so people can lay down and rest while they wait for Gates to open. Thanks.
