For my trip, I was charged $40 for my first luggage and $150 for my second. I just check the website and it says nothing about that. Why is that?

Hi Raysheen,

The first checked bag is supposed to be free with Caribbean Airlines, with a second bag costing $40, and $150 for a third. Did you only have two bags in total? Were any of them overweight? If you feel you were charged incorrectly I recommend you contact their customer service team at 1-954-359-4487.

I have a carry on and two other bags. How much will I be charged?

Jarrod West

January 28, 2021

Hi Patrice,

Where will you be flying? What type of ticket did you purchase? Are your two other bags checked bags and under the weight limit?

The answers to those questions will help me determine how much you can expect to be charged.

My mom has a personal bag, a carry-on, and two 50lb check bags. How much will she be charged at the airport? I purchased a classic ticket.

Jarrod West

August 31, 2021

Hi Nicola,

She should only need to pay $40 for her second checked bag.

From what I read and see there is no longer any flight with FREE checked luggage! If you compare the prices the payment for the supposedly FREE first checked bag is included in the ticket price. So CA should stop giving false information and just say we are charging a fee for all checked luggage. Disappointed Customer.

Jarrod West

November 29, 2021

If they weigh your carry-on bag then yes you likely will be charged if it is overweight.

Katie Seemann

March 15, 2022

Hi Abigail,
Infants are permitted 1 carry-on bag not exceeding 22 pounds (10 kg). A baby bag counts as a carry-on.

July 09, 2022

Hi, I traveled on the 25th of June 2022, from Georgetown to New York. I want to know what the baggage requirements are? I had my carry-on which is 22 pounds and another which was 50 pounds, and I had to pay for my 50 pounds. Isn’t it free with the carry-on allowance included in my ticket fee? I need to know if I have to get a refund. Thank you.

.

Katie Seemann

July 11, 2022

Hi Felicia,
You’re allowed 1 personal item and 1 carry-on up to 22 pounds. Was your 50-pound bag checked luggage? The maximum weight for checked bags is 50 lbs so if it was right on the edge you definitely could have gotten charged depending on the gate agent. It may be worth an email to the airlines to see if they’ll refund the charge, but it sounds like it might be legitimate. Good luck!

Hi am traveling with my 2 almost 3 year old soon. Do I have to pay to carry a stroller? Or is it free gate checked?

Chris Hassan

May 27, 2023

Hi Kayla,

You can check the stroller for free at check-in. If the aircraft allows, you may also have the option to gate check instead.
