Cape Air includes a standard carry-on and a personal item, but depending on the aircraft, you may not be able to store your items in the cabin due to restricted space.
Checked luggage is included in the ticket for flights to some destinations and for others it will need to be purchased.
Cape Air does not disclose weight limits for carry-on luggage, which is surprising considering it operates small aircraft. The airline states that it should be “sufficiently small and lightweight to be cleared through airport security screening,” so be sure to pack light to avoid being charged for additional checked luggage.

On some Cape Air flights, there are no overhead compartments and bags are generally not able to be stored under seats unless they are smaller than 12 x 6 x 8 inches (30.5 x 15.2 x 20.31 cm) on Tecnam Traveller aircraft. Other carry-on items will be stored by a Cape Air representative.

Fees apply when Cape Air is the first carrier in the itinerary, otherwise, the first carrier’s fees may apply.
It may be possible to transport special items (including excess luggage) depending on space availability. Cape Air does not disclose fees for excess luggage, so you will need to contact the airline directly for more information.

Exempt from all Cape Air baggage fees: Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard or retired military personnel and their dependents. A valid Military, Dependent ID, or Veteran’s ID Card must be presented to be eligible.
Cape Air does not allow passengers to prepay baggage, so this would need to be purchased at the airport subject to space.
