What a slap in the face by Wyndham. Now it takes double the points to stay at the nicer properties. (The 15000 pt. trade on resort properties was a nice incentive when we joined and decided to stay at Wyndham properties, in order to collect points.) Now Wyndham has done what I have discovered this company does best, screw the customer to pad their own pockets. This was clearly a bait and switch tactic (the 15,000 pt. trade on the nicer properties.) By the way, don’t waste your time getting talked into one of their timeshare presentations. You will be the loser in that situation as well.

Hi Porter. While higher end properties now require more points to book free nights, in reality it was unsustainable to keep the high-end resorts at a low 15,000 point redemption level. There is still plenty of value to be had at many properties. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Hi, how come no matter how I search (different dates, number of adults, length of stay, etc.), I never find ANY points availability for the hotels here within Asia?
Christine Krzyszton
June 27, 2023
I’m not sure, G. I just did a search for October in Japan, September in Vietnam, and September in Bangkok, and found several properties available. For example, a search for Bangkok for September 22 – 24, brought up 7 property options starting at 7,500 points. If you need to travel during holiday periods, you may need to book well in advance and have flexibility. If you still have trouble, you might want to call Wyndham reservations for assistance. Not sure which country you would be calling from or I would provide the number.

As a lower-middle to middle-class family, it took a long time to earn enough Wyndham Rewards points to book an all-inclusive hotel at 30,000 points per night (within three years so they don’t expire). Now that we are almost there, it appears you can no longer use Wyndham reward points to book an all-inclusive hotel. Is this correct? I hope this is not the case. I checked some months ago and the all-inclusive hotels were still available for rewards points, just going from 15,000 points per night (a few years ago) to 30,000 points per night. Now that we found the flights… the hotel is unavailable? We were saving to go to Freeport Bahama but will take whatever all-inclusive we can get for the points.

Hi JoAnne,
Unfortunately, as of June 1st, all-inclusive resorts will no longer be participating in the Wyndham Rewards program. I hope you’re able to find another great option for your family vacation to make great use of your points. Do you have points with Hyatt, Hilton, or IHG? Each of those hotel groups still offer point bookings at their all-inclusive hotels.

We have received 15,000 after purchasing Worldmark points to Diamond level and we would like to transfer them to maintenance fees or for cleanings. Please advise.

Hello Karen. This article is about the Wyndham Rewards hotel loyalty program. You will need to direct your question to Worldmark. Here is the link and contact info. https://www.worldmarkbywyndham.com/secure/faqs/ask.html

I am confused. We are booked to go to the Wyndham Reef, and I was told by Wyndham booking representative that by using our points we would be part of the all-inclusive package. Reviewing other sites I have read that others who have used points were not able to. Your site states that this is included. Please let us know if this is or if not why have it been changed.

Hi Den,
According to the Wyndham website, as of June 1st 2019, all-inclusive resorts will no longer be participating in the Wyndham Rewards program. However, if you were specifically told something different from a Wyndham representative then perhaps they have changed this rule back. Could you share more details about when the representative told you this? Did you make this booking prior to June 1st?

The points structure you have listed for the business card is incorrect. S/b: 8X
points on hotels by Wyndham and gas. 5x points on marketing, advertising, and utilities. 1x points on all other purchases.

What hotels do the free upgrade for Diamond members in Pigeon Forge TN or Gatlinburg TN?
Christine Krzyszton
August 09, 2020
Hi Dawn. Upgrades will be based on availability at the time of your stay at any hotel. There are dozens of Wyndham properties in those areas, 30 in Gatlinburg alone. You might try selecting a hotel via this Wyndham link and looking to see if the property offers suites. You could then contact the hotel directly for their policy on upgrading. https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/hotels/gatlinburg-tn-usa?brand_id=WR&checkInDate=9/17/2020&checkOutDate=9/20/2020&useWRPoints=false&children=0&adults=1&rooms=1&loc=ChIJiaUIy-pTWYgRqHm3fq7XsUo&sessionId=1596975720

How can I transfer points online from my account to another Wyndham Rewards member?
Jarrod West
December 31, 2020
Hi Dana,
This is not able to be done online and requires calling to speak to a Wyndham support team member. There is also an $11 charge per 1,000 points transferred, so it is generally not a great option given the cost.

I know that Wyndham points can transfer 1:1 to Caesars reward points. Are there any other partners that this works with and what is the ratio?

Hi Neil,
Are you asking what other programs you can transfer your Wyndham points to? Or are you wondering if there are any other programs whose points transfer to Caesars?

I have about 27k pts (4 yrs) that will expire by 12/31/21. if can’t use the points for a hotel stay, what will be the best redemption option? TIA
Christine Krzyszton
October 29, 2021
Hi Dan. While none of the options (other than hotel nights) provide good value for your points, redemption options include tours and activities, Marathon Gas, merchandise, gift cards, charitable donations, and point transfer partners. Tours and activities can sometimes yield 1 cent or more in value but if you’re not traveling, that might not be viable either. You could possibly transfer points to Ceasers Rewards 1:1, then transfer the points back when you are ready to use them. You could also make a call to Wyndham Rewards and ask for an extension (COVID?). The worst is that they say no and you go to plan B, review all the options for something you can use, and try to get close to 1 cent in value/point. Let us all know what you end up doing.

I’m a Wyndham timeshare owner, but don’t use a Wyndham rewards card.
I am hoping to travel to Europe this year – going to 4-6 countries and staying just a couple of days in each. Someone suggested transferring points to rewards points and booking that way. Do you know how that is done? And do you feel like that would be the smartest way to do it?

Hi Dawn,
The only points you can transfer to Wyndham are called Capital One Miles. You need to open a card like the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to earn these Capital One Miles. After you have Capital One Miles, you can then transfer those miles to Wyndham Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio.
Here is the link to the credit card’s benefits and features:

Is there a “cash-back” option for redeeming rewards? Or a “statement credit” option?

Hi Bob,
Unfortunately, you can not redeem Wyndham rewards for cash-back.
