Capital One will soon be launching a new credit card — the Capital One Spark Travel Elite — which is virtually identical to the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, except it caters to small business owners.

Here is everything you need to know about the new card.

Capital One Spark Travel Elite Card Details

Here are the earning rates for the new card, along with the benefits it offers:

  • 10x miles per $1 on hotels and rental cars purchased through Capital One Travel
  • 5x miles per $1 on flights purchased through Capital One Travel
  • 2x miles per $1 on all other purchases
  • Up to $300 annual travel credit for bookings through Capital One’s travel portal
  • Complimentary lounge access to Priority Pass lounges and Capital One lounges
  • 10,000 bonus miles on your account anniversary each year
  • Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit

As you can see, all of these benefits are shared with the Capital One Venture X card, and the Capital One Spark Travel Elite card will also have the same $395 annual fee.

What stands out the most about the Capital One Spark Travel Elite card currently is its massive welcome bonus.

With it, you can earn up to 250,000 bonus miles in your first 6 months of card membership. You’ll earn 50,000 miles after you spend $10,000 in the first 3 months, and another 200,000 miles once you spend $50,000 in your first 6 months.

Since the card earns, at minimum, 2x miles per $1 on all purchases, you’ll earn at least 100,000 miles for completing the $50,000 minimum spend requirement. This means you would have 350,000 miles after receiving the welcome bonus, which we value at $6,300.

Hot Tip: With 350,000 Capital One Miles, you can book some seriously awesome trips through the Capital One transfer partners. Here is a look at some of our favorite ways to redeem Capital One miles.

How To Get the Capital One Spark Travel Elite Card

Currently, the only way to apply for the card is through a business relationship manager at Capital One. Capital One does plan to release the card to the greater public but has not released an official date yet.

Final Thoughts

While the Capital One Spark Travel Elite card is essentially a carbon copy of the Capital One Venture X card, this card is designed for small business owners. Soon, interested applicants with a business will be able to enjoy all of the benefits of a robust travel rewards card, without sacrificing the perks and protections that business credit cards provide.

Not to mention the massive 250,000-mile welcome bonus that will provide tons of value to business owners who are able to meet the card’s minimum spend requirements in the first 6 months.

How time consuming is it to get a business relationship manager? I assume it has to be done in-person also, yes?

Hi Slaven,

Yes, it does have to be done in person but is not very time consuming.
