When you think of airport lounge access, you might think of airline-specific lounge networks like Delta Sky Club, American Admirals Club, or maybe a lounge network like Priority Pass. Now, the airport lounge wars are in full swing as more credit card issuers develop their own airport lounges.

The most notable credit card lounge collection is of course the American Express Centurion Lounges, but more recently we’ve seen the launch of Capital One Lounges and now Chase Sapphire Lounges.

The addition of Chase Sapphire Lounges is a great development for award travelers. However, many Chase Sapphire Lounges aren’t open yet. Just 2 Chase Sapphire lounges are open for business, with the other 6 set to launch later this year or further in the future.

That said, here is a complete look at all of the details released about the Chase Sapphire Lounges, where you can find them, how you can access them, what amenities to expect, and more.

How To Access Chase Sapphire Lounges

Since the Chase Sapphire Lounges are being launched in partnership with The Club, anyone with a credit card that has access to Priority Pass will be able to visit Chase Sapphire Lounges.

Primary cardmembers and authorized users with the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, J.P. Morgan Reserve Card, or The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card who have activated their complimentary Priority Pass lounge access can enter the Boston Sapphire Lounge by The Club. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders may bring up to 2 guests per Priority Pass membership card, per visit, for free, and additional guests for $27. Ritz-Carlton cardholders may bring unlimited guests at no charge. There’s no additional charge for children under 2.

Strangely, Priority Pass access opens Chase Sapphire Lounges to those who have a Priority Pass membership through another card issuer, namely American Express, Capital One, and Citi. It leaves the majority of Chase’s own cardholders out — notably, those with a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

Here are some additional cards that include Priority Pass and Chase Sapphire Lounge access:

Hot Tip: Note that Priority Pass members without a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, J.P Morgan Reserve card, or Ritz-Carlton card will only be able to enter a domestic Sapphire Lounge by The Club location 1 time at no cost per calendar year and will be charged a $75 entry fee upon each subsequent visit to any location within the Sapphire Lounge by The Club network. Non-Priority Pass members can enter (subject to capacity) for $100 per visit. The Hong Kong lounge is open to Priority Pass members and their eligible guests without the visit limitation.

Amex Platinum Card — Our Favorite Card for Lounge Access

When it comes to airport lounge access, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a card that offers you access to more lounges than the Amex Platinum card. With it, you can access over 1,400 lounges as part of the Amex Global Lounge Collection:

Beyond that, the Amex Platinum card offers amazing benefits, including tons of annual statement credits with partners such as Uber and CLEAR, hotel elite status with Hilton Honors and Marriott Bonvoy, access to the Fine Hotels + Resorts program, TSA PreCheck or Global Entry application fee credit, and more. Note that some benefits mentioned above requirement enrollment, so be sure to explore your American Express account to get the most out of your card.

Hot Tip: Check to see if you’re eligible for a welcome bonus offer of up to 125k (or 150k) points with the Amex Platinum. The current public offer is 80,000 points. (This targeted offer was independently researched and may not be available to all applicants.)

Final Thoughts

For award travelers, the more lounge options you have, the better! While there aren’t many Chase Sapphire Lounges available at the moment, most are under development with plans to launch in the next year or so. Further, Chase and The Club have steadily added new U.S. airport locations.

Fortunately, if you already have a Priority Pass membership you can look forward to visiting these new lounges when they open, and if you do not, then you have multiple credit card options that can provide you with access.
