While Singapore Airlines might not be the first airline you think of when earning miles and points, its loyalty program, KrisFlyer, is worth looking at. You can use KrisFlyer miles to fly many airlines, including Star Alliance carriers like United Airlines.

Singapore Airlines partners with all transferable points programs (American Express, Brex, Capital One, Chase, Citi, and Marriott Bonvoy) so earning KrisFlyer miles is a breeze.

Beyond credit cards, there are plenty of other ways to quickly earn KrisFlyer miles to help you top off your account.

Here are some of the fastest ways to earn KrisFlyer miles so you can get busy booking your next award flight.

Earn KrisFlyer Miles With Credit Cards

Without a doubt, using credit cards that earn points you can transfer to your KrisFlyer account is the quickest and easiest way to earn tons of KrisFlyer miles.

1. Chase Ultimate Rewards

You can earn rewards points quickly with Chase Ultimate Rewards and transfer them to the Chase transfer partners like Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.

Get 1,000 KrisFlyer miles for every 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you transfer (in increments of 1,000). According to KrisFlyer, this process can take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks. In practice, however, it almost always takes 1 to 2 business days.

The great thing about Chase Ultimate Rewards is that you can combine points from multiple cards.

Chase points are so easy to earn. Here are the Chase credit cards that we recommend you use to earn points that are transferable to the KrisFlyer program:

Recommended Chase Cards (Personal)

Not only can you earn reward points from everyday spending, but each card has its own welcome bonus to get you quickly on your way to an award booking.

2. American Express Membership Rewards

If you don’t have Chase Ultimate Rewards points or you need another source of easy-to-earn points to transfer to KrisFlyer, look no further than American Express Membership Rewards.

Singapore KrisFlyer is an Amex transfer partner at a 1:1 ratio to KrisFlyer, and transfers take approximately 1 to 2 days.

Earn tons of Membership Rewards points with the following American Express credit cards:

Recommended American Express Cards (Personal)

Hot Tip: Check to see if you’re eligible for a welcome bonus offer of up to 125k (or 150k) points with the Amex Platinum. The current public offer is 80,000 points. (This targeted offer was independently researched and may not be available to all applicants.)

Hot Tip: Check to see if you’re eligible for a welcome bonus offer of up to 90,000 points with the Amex Gold card. The current public offer is 60,000 points. (This targeted offer was independently researched and may not be available to all applicants.)

Business Owner? Check out our article on the best Amex business cards that earn Membership Rewards.

Just like the Chase cards, you can earn a welcome bonus for most American Express cards, and their annual fees will vary.

3. Citi ThankYou Rewards

Do you have a Citi ThankYou Rewards account? If not, you might want to open one (and here’s a quick list of the best Citi credit cards that will let you start earning ThankYou Points).

Earn ThankYou Points by using the right Citi credit cards, and then transfer your ThankYou Points to the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program.

Every 1,000 ThankYou Points transferred equals 1,000 KrisFlyer miles! Transfers take around 2 business days.

Recommended Citi Cards

4. Capital One Miles

Capital One miles transfer to KrisFlyer at a 1:1 ratio.

Transferring Capital One miles to KrisFlyer can potentially save you a ton of Capital One miles if you’re looking to book a first or business class ticket, since you’re using the KrisFlyer award chart compared to getting 1 cent per point against the cash ticket price when using Capital One Travel.

Make sure you have a Capital One card that has the transferable miles feature. Here are our picks:

Recommended Capital One Cards

5. Marriott Bonvoy Cards

You can earn Marriott Bonvoy points and then transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to KrisFlyer at a 3:1 ratio. For every 3 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer you’ll receive 1 KrisFlyer mile.

Plus, for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points that you transfer, you’ll receive an extra 5,000 KrisFlyer miles bonus.

Recommended Marriott Bonvoy Cards

6. Brex Rewards Cards

Brex Rewards is one of the newest card issuers out there. Marketed towards startups, you can earn Brex Rewards points by making purchases on its cards.

The best part is that you can transfer Brex Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. These transfers take up to 1 business day.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

If you are flying with Singapore Airlines, make sure you attach your KrisFlyer account number to every flight to ensure you earn miles.

7. Sign Up for the KrisFlyer Loyalty Program

When you enroll in KrisFlyer, a membership number will be assigned to you right away. The official membership card will be sent once you complete your first qualifying transaction on Singapore Airlines or Scoot.

KrisFlyer members earn points for travel with Singapore Airlines and its more than 200 partners, which include airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, and more.

These reward points can be redeemed for award tickets and upgrades.

All cabins have amenities, including an in-seat power supply, height-adjustable leather headrests, and inflight entertainment on personal video monitors.

For those who prefer to travel in luxury, there is Suites Class (i.e. first class), available exclusively on the Airbus A380 with flights to New York, Sydney, and other major international gateways. Talk about privacy!

Suites are individual cabins with window blinds and sliding doors to keep out prying eyes. Relax in a chaise lounge or catch up on work at a large table. A separate bed (with turndown service) makes sleeping comfortable.

15. Convert Hotel Loyalty Points to KrisFlyer Miles

We already discussed how to earn miles for stays with Singapore Airlines hotel partners, but you can also transfer hotel miles to your KrisFlyer account from the following loyalty programs.

You can even earn points using credit cards associated with these programs and then transfer those to Singapore Airlines. However, this is not recommended as the transfer rates are so poor — you’ll get much more value redeeming your hotel points for lodging.

17. Convert from Loyalty Programs in Southeast Asia

One of the best ways for those based in Southeast Asia to earn KrisFlyer miles is to convert points earned from other loyalty programs, including lifestyle brands like Forbes Asia, dining rewards like Madoo, or petrol rewards like Shell.

For example, B-Infinite is a Malaysia-based loyalty program. By shopping with its various lifestyle brands, you can earn BPoints that can transfer at a ratio of 100:10 to KrisFlyer.

Here is the complete list of loyalty programs in Southeast Asia that’ll reward you for various activities.

18. KrisShop

Hi Margaret,

If you didn’t enter your loyalty number during booking then you will have to contact Singapore Airlines directly to have them retroactively add your miles.

KrisFlyer Spree was discontinued in September 2022, and is therefore no longer an option.
I suggest you update the post to reflect this.
